Kyle Mentzer
Owner
Following Doug’s retirement in 2025, Kyle is now the 3rd generation owner of Russ’ Uptown Optical, and 4th generation optician. Having grown up in and around the optical world, Kyle officially joined Russ’ Uptown Optical in 2013, and is proud to be working in the family business and continue the tradition. Not only does he care about finding the best lens product for each customer’s needs, he is also passionate about helping customers find their unique style.
Doug Mentzer
Doug has been with Russ’ Uptown Optical since its beginning in 1978 and is responsible for growing the business to what we know it as today. Although Doug officially transitioned into retirement in 2025, his connection to Russ’ Uptown Optical and the optical community remains strong, and you’ll likely still see him in the shop from time to time.
Lisa Jennings
Lisa started with Russ’ in 2023, but has been in the optical industry since 2017. She brings with her an extensive knowledge of optics and all optical products. Lisa has an extensive background in art and design, and is extremely knowledgeable in the pairing colors and shapes. She loves styling customers and assisting them in finding that perfect frame!
